1KGIVEAWAY.com DONATES THOUSANDS   TO “WEASE CARES FOR  CHILDREN”

Local online game site gives back to community

MONROE COUNTY, FAIRPORT, NY – March 7, 2007 – During the month of February, 1KGiveaway.com promised a $1 donation to the Charity “Wease Cares for Children” for every new person that registered on their game website.  This promotion produced 3,697 new players and an equal size dollar donation. The donation will be presented to Brother Wease on 96.5 WCMF this week. Pictured from left are Jeff Schleede, Wease, Tim Masyln, Casie Maslyn.

“We are very pleased with the turnout and the opportunity to support a wonderful organization,” states Jeff Schleede, National Sales Manager for 1KGiveaway, Inc. The game is played by clicking and matching dollar amounts on your own private, 64-square, virtual gameboard on 1KGiveaway.com while visiting local sponsor websites.

Sojourner House donates 225 bags of  school supplies to needy.

The giveaway "is a way for us to bring together the whole Sojourner House community," said Mary Staropoli, development director at Sojourner. It also gives an important head start to students, she said. The school supplies and backpacks cost $4,300, Staropoli said. This year, the bulk of that came from PAETEC Communications Inc. of Perinton ($2,000) and the Wease Cares Children's Fund ($1,000), set up by WCMF-FM (96.5) personality Brother Wease.

Who Was Andy and Why This Fund Came to Be

Andy "Ange" Jejna was the epitome of a gentleman and was loved and respected by all who were fortunate to have had him in their life. Andy resided in Webster with his loving family and attended services at St. Josephats Ukrainian Church. He spent much of his time riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle (when he wasn't working on Brother Wease's), eating lunch at Mamasan's Restaurant with the boys, enjoying his Camaro and playing soccer.

Andy's life was taken abruptly by cancer on April 24th, 1995. It is our wish that the WEASE CARES Children's Fund (established as a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization on April 11, 1997) will perpetuate Andy's memory, the quality of generosity and the child that we found in his heart. The WEASE CARES Children's Fund serves to be a perpetual fund, and a repository of gifts from Andy's friends, family, acquaintances, and any other interested individuals

Andy gave to us from his heart, and in keeping with his spirit, it is the goal of this Fund to enhance the lives of children within the Greater Rochester area with special needs, by providing an integral financial resource so that they may benefit from opportunities and experiences that may not otherwise be financially feasible.

"Kids are the life and breath of the world we live in, so please take very special care of them"
Andy "Ange" Jejna
